Full Launch of e-Tender Submission and Phase out of Physical Tender Box

28 Dec 2023

With effect from 1 January 2024, HKUST PURO will fully implement e-tender submission. ALL tender responses should be submitted via e-tendering system, and NO other submission method will be accepted. The physical tender box located at PURO Office will then be sealed and phased out. It’s highly recommended that you submit your tender documents as early as possible before tender due date and avoid the last minute submission. If you encounter any difficulties in submission, please contact the person listed in the tender invitation as early as possible.

New eRequisition and Purchase Order Number for HKUST

30 Nov 2023

HKUST (CWB) will implement a new numbering logic for eRequisition (eREQ) and Purchase Orders (PO) with effect from 1 December 2023.

Under the new logic, eREQ and PO will have the same number but with different starting letter. eREQ numbers will begin with “R” (e.g. R100xxxxxx) while PO numbers will begin with "P" (e.g. P100xxxxxx).

The change will only apply to NEW eREQ and PO, with no effect to departmental purchase order (DPO, e.g. D100xxxxxx). And existing eREQs and POs will remain in numbering formats such as 1100xxxxxx and 30000xxxxx.

Fraudulent emails falsely claiming to be sending from the Purchasing Office of HKUST

30 Jan 2023

Recently, it has come to our attention that some suppliers received emails from anonymous domains (e.g. hkustedu-hk.com, hkust-edu-hk.org) falsely claiming to be sending from the Purchasing Office of HKUST.

This is to inform you that these emails are suspected to be fraudulent emails for scamming activities. They are not issued by HKUST or HKUST Purchasing Office. If you receive suspicious emails claiming to be issued by HKUST, please check the domain of the email senders. Emails issued by HKUST-senders use the domain of @ust.hk.

Suspicious domains such as “hkustedu-hk.com” and "hkust-edu-hk.org" do not belong to HKUST and you should be highly alerted when reading their emails.

The matter is now under investigation. Should you have any additional enquiries, please feel free to contact Purchasing Office general hotline at 2358-6406. Such information can also be found published in our official website https://puro.hkust.edu.hk/contact-us
